Over the past few months we have quietly been developing our in-house design capability, covering areas including substation design, footprint and elevation drawings and optioneering studies to understand the most appropriate connection options for new energy and battery projects. We have now successfully delivered many projects to a range of clients, particularly focusing on planning applications, pre-FEED and FEED level work.

Our projects include consideration of space constraints and commercial aspects, carrying out assessment of technologies such as transformer type, AIS versus GIS solutions, techno-economic analysis and equipment selection. For example, in a recent project we encountered land and elevation limitations. We addressed this challenge by leveraging compact disconnector circuit breakers (DCBs), integrating the equipment into the compound and ensuring compliance whist maximising space efficiency.

We also have the in-house capability to cover protection and control, as well as substation automation.

We are a truly international team, with our projects and engineers currently spanning UK, Ireland, Southern and Central Asia, the Middle East and South America, enabling us to provide solutions in many locations and regions.
