Due Diligence & Advisory

We have experience in carrying out technical due diligence and advisory work, specifically around the grid, electrical connection, regulation and grid code compliance.

We deliver this work for both onshore and offshore projects, for connections ranging from small distribution connections to large offshore connections.

Our consultants are skilled in communicating complex technical issues to the wider due diligence team, and working successfully alongside commercial, legal and financial functions. We also understand the pace of this type of work and the requirement for flexibility and responsiveness.

We are extremely happy with the level of service received from Blake Clough Consulting. We often make requests with very tight timescales, which Blake Clough’s consultants meet for us. Blake Clough is happy to work collaboratively with us as well as independently as required, and also provides us with high quality deliverables and outputs relating to grid connection due diligence, cost assessment and curtailment analysis. We are very happy with Blake Clough and all of their help

Due Diligence & Advisory – Energy Strategy Consultancy

The successful and cost-efficient transition to a low carbon society requires careful planning and strategic thinking.

To support this goal, we undertake front-end feasibility and strategic work, often for clients that wish to better understand how they can reduce their carbon footprint and become carbon neutral.

This includes clients such as Local Authorities, large infrastructure owners or developers at the start of their development journey.

We support our clients through their journey to Net Zero by offering the following services:

  • Guidance to reduce our clients’ carbon footprint and to become “Net Zero” e.g. deployment of low carbon technologies etc;
  • Development of high-level strategic Energy Strategies and Roadmaps to become Net Zero;
  • High level scoping of development projects (such as solar, storage, micro-hydro, smart grids etc) that could contribute towards reducing our clients’ carbon footprint;
  • Indicative Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) on potential initiatives to support decarbonisation objective;
  • Supporting proposals for funding to deploy carbon reduction initiatives

Due Diligence & Advisory – Stakeholder Engagement

Stakeholder Engagement is often an important aspect of, and input into projects, where various stakeholders such as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Network Operators, public sector organisations and other interested parties are consulted regarding a particular issue or development.

Through years of experience, we have become extremely effective at gathering the views and opinions from our clients’ key stakeholders and presenting this feedback back to our clients to aid in decision making and to justify the decisions our clients make.

Our stakeholder engagement strategy is often tailored to the individual client and project to ensure key insights are captured effectively. This flexible approach accounts for the differences between each stakeholder group and their needs.

Techno-economic Analysis

Techno-economic analysis is often used to assist in decision making, but generally inputs are uncertain and subject to change in the future.

We are highly skilled in this type of analysis, as we have a broad range of experience and skills, including technical and commercial environmental etc and understand the various areas (and risks) of project development.
