The StartUp Awards were established in 2022 to highlight the success of startups across nine UK nations and regions, and to celebrate the achievements of entrepreneurs in all sectors of the economy. This year the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber final was held at the Boiler Shop in Newcastle and saw 33 different awards given out to new businesses.

Blake Clough Consulting was invited to apply for the award, which focussed on aspects such as our growth to date, plans for the future, types of services we offer, how we differentiate ourselves etc.  We heard that we were finalists in two categories a couple of months ago, and then were selected as the winner of the  “Business, Consulting and Management StartUp of the Year” category by the judges.

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, creator of the awards, said the events have celebrated the best new firms in the UK and recognised the amazing entrepreneurial talent across the nation. He said:

“In the second year of the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber Startup Awards, we have seen yet again the incredible contribution of new businesses to job creation, innovation, and prosperity across the whole of this entrepreneurial nation. It’s been an honour and a pleasure to read the stories of those individuals from across North East, Yorkshire and the Humber who have spotted the opportunity and taken the risk to launch their own venture, especially at a time when the economy is still fragile after the Covid pandemic.

Andy, Anthony, Kishmala and Mubashar attended the event in Newcastle which was a good opportunity to meet up and enjoy the celebrations!
