Anna Ferguson
Managing Director

Anna has 15 years’ of experience in Power Networks and Renewable Energy, including nearly a decade of experience working at Director level with Atkins, TNEI, WSP and now as Managing Director of Blake Clough Consulting. Since Sept 2021 she has grown the Blake Clough team from a small startup to one of the UK’s leading Power Networks consultancies. During her time with Blake Clough, Anna has also developed skills in electrical package management for large offshore wind farms, as well as carrying out complex power systems studies and delivering regulatory and strategic projects.
Anna has a broad range of knowledge and experience in areas including electricity regulation, power system economics, technical advisory/ due diligence, innovation, support to generation/ demand/ storage developers and multi-disciplinary project management. She is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the IET and an active member of Cigré, where she sits as a member of the Steering Committee.
Prior to moving into the field of Power Networks, Anna has worked in other industry sectors including Strategy Consulting and Investment Banking, and applies principles gained working for major global clients to projects within the Energy industry. Anna has a strong academic background, having read Electrical and Information Sciences at the University of Cambridge (MEng), gained a PhD from the University of Leeds and an MSc in Electrical Power Systems from the University of Bath. Following successful completion of the MSc, she was invited to be a member of the teaching staff at Bath University for this course, and held the post for five years.
Anna is also a keen amateur musician, currently playing principal cornet for the Slaithwaite band, as organist of the Upper Slaithwaite Church and she has recently been awarded the Associate of the Royal Schools of Music (ARSM) diploma in trumpet with distinction.

Anthony Donoghue
Managing Director

Previously Networks Innovation Manager and Power Systems Team Leader at WSP, Anthony is passionate about the role of innovation in delivering the electricity system of the future and accelerating the transition to Net Zero. This passion for innovation was a driving force behind his decision to co-found Blake Clough. As Managing Director, Anthony intends to take his wealth of experience in the innovation space to help clients deliver transformative projects which can provide significant financial and environmental benefits for energy consumers.
During his career to date, Anthony has developed and led several high profile technical and commercial innovation projects funding by Ofgem and the Network Operators. Most recently Anthony has been working closely with various GB and Irish Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) in the preparation of their RIIO ED2 and PR5 regulatory business plans, providing diverse support across multiple areas including the development of investment strategies, Engineering Justification Papers and Cost Benefit Analysis. Prior to co-founding Blake Clough, Anthony has worked for WSP and SP Energy Networks in the electricity networks industry. Furthermore, before shifting focus to Electricity Networks and the decarbonisation of the energy system, Anthony worked in the Oil & Gas for Shell in the Completions and Well Interventions discipline.

Abdullah Emhemed
Director: Power Systems & Design UK
PhD, Msc, BSc
Dr Abdullah Emhemed is a Director at Blake Clough Consulting with over 24 years of experience in electricity networks and low-carbon technologies. He leads the UK Power Systems Team, with responsibility for business management, technical assurance, project delivery, and strategic development. His background combines senior leadership with hands-on delivery of complex power systems projects across transmission and distribution networks.
Abdullah brings deep technical expertise in protection systems, EMT studies, HVDC and offshore power systems, supported by extensive experience in offline, real-time, and hardware-in-the-loop simulation. He is highly proficient in industry-standard tools including RSCAD/RTDS, PSCAD/EMTDC, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ATP-EMTP, ETAP, and PSS?E. He also plays an active role in shaping industry best practice and standard through his involvement with BSI and IEC LVDC committees, the IET TC2.4 technical committee, and as a co-author of the IET LVDC Installation Code of Practice.
Abdullah has led and contributed to a wide portfolio of electricity network innovation projects, spanning smart grids, power-electronics integration, and the transition to low-carbon and DC network architectures. He has acted as Project Manager and Technical Lead on complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives covering active network management, resilience and demand disconnection schemes, coordination with balancing services, and renewable-led system restoration and black start.
Prior to joining BCC, he spent over six years as a Technical Director at WSP UK (led and developed the Energy Advisory Power Systems Team) and more than seven years as a Research Fellow at the University of Strathclyde, where he supervised five PhD students. He has published over 50 journal papers, conference articles, and industry reports, reflecting his strong contribution to both academic research and practical power systems engineering.

Alex Dixon
Financial Controller

Alex has joined Blake Clough as our Financial Controller, and will bring hands on experience to support the Company as it experiences rapid growth – to transform the finance function by building strong financial processes and controls.
She holds a First Class BSc degree from the University of Manchester, and an ACA qualification from Deloitte. Before joining Blake Clough, Alex spent 3 years working in financial services audits, before moving into industry where she experienced 5 years working as a Group Finance Manager.
Outside of work Alex enjoys reading, travelling, and keeping fit by kickboxing and taking her dogs for walks.

Lascelle Mauricette
Head of Grid
BEng, Msc, PhD
Lascelle is Head of Grid at Blake Clough Consulting, where he leads the delivery of Grid Connection Services across both Distribution and Transmission networks. He oversees high-quality outputs for clients, covering everything from regulatory strategy and connection feasibility to curtailment analysis and due diligence. He also drives innovation in new tools and service offerings to support clients in navigating an increasingly complex grid landscape.
Lascelle has led hundreds of grid projects across Great Britain, from 11kV to 400kV and sub-MW to multi-GW, spanning solar PV, onshore wind, battery storage, data centres, EV infrastructure, fossil-based generation, and more novel technologies. As part of this work, he developed Blake Clough’s suite of curtailment tools and modelling methodologies, now widely used across the business to support both Distribution and Transmission projects. He has played a key role in helping developers respond to major regulatory changes such as Access SCR and Gate 2 and led Blake Clough’s technical advisory support for the European RESTORE project in Bulgaria, contributing GB expertise to international initiatives.
Lascelle holds a PhD from Imperial College London, where his research focused on enhancing multi-energy microgrid resilience through smart operational strategies, with publications in leading journals and conferences. He also holds an MRes in Future Power Networks and Smart Grids from the University of Strathclyde, and previously worked as a researcher at the University of Cambridge.

Caspar Collins
Head of Power Systems UK
PhD, MSc, BSc
Caspar is Head of Power Systems – UK , who specialises in power systems compliance Studies and Offshore Wind FEED and Pre-FEED studies. Caspar holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Technologies from the University of Warwick and a PhD from Imperial College London in Power Systems and Power Electronics.
He has previously worked as a Research Associate at Imperial College London where his research focused on modelling and controller design of power converters for HVDC systems, such as off-shore windfarms, with an emphasis on harmonic analysis and power quality enhancement. He also has publications in active filter design and PV inverter design.
Since joining Blake Clough, Caspar has worked on power systems studies for a variety of projects and has expertise in both DIgSILENT Power Factory and PSCAD simulation tools. He has completed numerous G99 and Grid Code compliance studies packages for a variety of technology types such as BESS, PV, wind and Gas plant. He has led several Offshore Wind Pre-FEED and FEED studies packages across UK, Ireland and South Korea. Caspar also led in the delivery Grid Code and Stability Pathfinder compliance studies for Grid Forming BESS.

Amy Crum
Principal Power Systems Consultant
BEng, MSc
Amy is a Principal Consultant, based in our Glasgow office. She holds a BEng from the University of Glasgow; completed a post-grad MSc at the University of Strathclyde funded by the ORE Brittania scholarship; and conducted research at the University of Sheffield investigating community energy and island grids funded by the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures. Amy has worked in the energy industry for over 9 years, most recently as a Principal Renewables Engineer for a Scottish consultancy and developer.
Amy has significant experience in reviewing land for wind/solar/BESS/cable route suitability, with projects ranging from 50kW to over 200MW. She has the expertise to determine initial feasibility of a site from planning and technical perspectives, including developing high-quality site layouts for planning, property and grid consents. She has worked with a diverse range of clients, from community groups and landowners developing small-scale wind and solar, to major developers and lenders on large-scale onshore wind/solar/BESS and hybrid projects. Amy also has real-world experience of operational wind and solar sites, with WTSR and CSCS qualifications.
Amy leads our geospatial works, which include our cable route optioneering and mapping; grid feasibility/PoC identification; renewable site design works; and a range of bespoke mapping projects for a wide variety of Clients. Introducing a GIS mapping element to our services allows us to streamline our cable costing projects, and allows us to adapt our deliverable formats for our clients.
Throughout her career, Amy has spent two years working for a Scottish renewable developer, and therefore also brings an excellent understanding of the developer’s perspective to Blake Clough. In her role, she was responsible for ensuring consistency of design between planning, property and technical site design, alongside keeping key financial models up to date to ensure all changes were reflected in the case for the projects. Amy continues practising these skills through our due diligence and site feasibility offerings.
Amy spends most of her free time hillwalking in the highlands or (on a rainy day) walking her dog to the pub.

April Chen
Principal Power Systems Consultant
Meng (Hons)
April is a Principal Consultant working at Blake Clough consulting. She is an experienced energy professional with experience across energy strategy, innovation, and data analytics.
Before joining Blake Clough, she spent 3 years at National Grid Partners, the corporate venture capital arm of National Grid, working as an Innovation Manager, initiating, developing, and delivering transformative innovation initiatives across the distribution and transmission networks. She led projects such as scaling modular substations on the distribution network as well as testing AI and battery systems for constraint management on the transmission network. She also has significant experience as an Energy Strategy Consultant at WSP, working across strategy, regulation, and energy network analytics for clients in the energy sector. She started off her career at PWC, as a data and analytics consultant transforming data systems at FTSE 100 companies across a variety of industries.
April holds a MEng in General Engineering with New and Renewable Energy from the University of Durham and outside of work enjoys climbing, travelling and exploring various street foods throughout the world.

Amjed Eljetlawi
Senior Power Systems Consultant

Amjed has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. At Blake Clough, Amjed has worked on various projects, including the integration of a BESS plant when operating in both Grid-Forming and Grid-Following modes. He has also worked on different Compliance studies, such as Voltage Response, Frequency Response, FRT & FFCI Study, AC Voltage Variation Study, DRC schedule 14 Study, voltage and frequency protection settings, EMT Model Validation and Stability Pathfinder Studies.
Amjed had also joined UK power networks as a network planning engineer as a part of a secondment. At UK power networks, Amjed gained knowledge and experience in assessing new domestic and commercial load connections to the distribution network (SPN) as well as generating load assessment reports to be submitted to the project managers.
Amjed is a confident and proactive individual who always set himself high standards and strives for continuous success. His experience spans across electrical power systems, high voltage engineering, general engineering manufacturing process, and distance protection schemes on transmission networks. Supporting the government net zero policy, Amjed has conducted a funded project to protect a part of the British network when renewable energy sources are integrated into the network. The project involved deploying the travelling-wave differential protection scheme for double-ended tests.
During his study to date, Amjed has implemented power systems studies, including short-circuit calculations, load flow analysis, protection co-ordinations, stability analysis, and integrating renewable energy sources to the electrical network. Additionally, he has experience in testing the acidity level in transformer oils.

Siddhant Guru
Senior Power Systems Consultant

Siddhant joined Blake Clough Consulting as a Power Systems Consultant in December 2023. At Blake Clough, he has produced high quality deliverables across a wide range of Curtailment Analyses, Grid Connection Feasibility studies, and Due Diligence of connection offers, all covering both Distribution and Transmission level. Previously he worked in the Grid & Park Design and Modelling Team for Suzlon Energy Limited from September 2021 to August 2023. He worked on upgrading grid simulation models for Wind Turbine Generators and in voltage control at Point of Interconnection.
In September 2023, upon receiving The Global Futures Scholarship, he joined The University of Manchester to pursue MSc Electrical Power Systems Engineering, in which he has achieved a Distinction. He has a strong background in simulation and modelling of Power Plants, and currently has interests in developing probabilistic models at Blake Clough.
Siddhant has engaged in social initiatives with NSS Rourkela, and was the treasurer in Clarion, the official Debating Society of NIT Rourkela. He also runs an online blog, entitled “Net Notes”, in which he writes on all things related to tennis.

Andreas Nikolaou
Senior Power Systems Consultant

Andreas is a Senior Power Systems Consultant. At Blake Clough, Andreas leads and coordinates transient studies, including insulation coordination and circuit breaker capability studies. Since joining Blake Clough, Andreas has developed methodologies and modelling tools, and has successfully delivered, with his team, circuit breaker capability and insulation coordination studies for a variety of clients and system operators in the UK and internationally.
Furthermore, Andreas was selected and is actively participating in a CIGRE working group focused on defining transformer insulation withstand capability under Very Fast Transient Overvoltage (VFTO) conditions, including waveform modelling, transformer response analysis, and evaluation of insulation system performance under high-frequency stresses.
Andreas holds a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MSc in Electrical Power Engineering from Northumbria University, Newcastle, in addition to a PhD from Imperial College London, where he was part of the Control and Power Research Group.
During his PhD at Imperial College London, Andreas’s research centred on power system modelling and analysis, with a specific focus on the voltage support provided by photovoltaic systems operating in grid-forming mode. He has a publication under review in IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, which addresses optimal dynamic voltage support using grid-forming inverter technology.
At Blake Clough, Andreas utilises his extensive expertise to foster innovation and develop technical solutions.

Nishant Tyagi
Senior Energy Systems Engineer

Nishant is an energy professional combining power markets, regulatory, and modelling expertise across GB and European markets. He holds a Gold Medal for his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (BIT Mesra, India) and received the Best MSc Student Award for his Master’s in Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Systems (University of Leeds). He has further deepened his expertise in power system economics and regulation through professional training at the Florence School of Regulation (Italy) and TU Delft (The Netherlands). He has researched whole energy systems at KU Leuven (Belgium) and has published in Applied Energy on energy system integration across different energy vectors (e.g., electricity, natural gas, hydrogen, heat) and end-use sectors (e.g., industry, transport, and residential). He is skilled in mixed-integer optimisation, with applications ranging from asset-level dispatch algorithms to national-level generation and transmission capacity expansion models. Previously, Nishant has worked with the Indian Government, gaining experience in project management, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory processes.
At Blake Clough, Nishant specialises in GB and European electricity markets. He interprets complex industry codes (e.g., BSC, Grid Code, CUSC, EU Electricity Codes and Guidelines), structures metering and settlement arrangements, and prepares clients for the full cycle of Capacity Market (CM) and CfD participation. He advises on route-to-market and revenue-stacking strategies across Balancing Mechanism (BM) and different ancillary services, and quantifies network charging exposure spanning TNUoS, DUoS, and BSUoS, giving clients a firm basis for pricing contracts and investment cases. In addition, he models network constraints to guide siting and investment decisions. By combining practical regulatory insight, market expertise, and modelling depth, Nishant helps clients navigate an evolving power sector with confidence.

Tom Williams
Senior Power Systems Consultant

Tom has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. At Blake Clough, Tom has been the main point of contact for multiple clients, supporting them with their portfolio of projects and providing advice and Due Diligence on Grid Connection Offers. Alongside this, Tom has led and delivered multiple curtailment and grid scouting studies.
Tom has also been heavily involved in the development of Blake Clough’s new and existing services, including modelling Distribution and Transmission networks for Curtailment Analysis and quantification of the impact of Connections Reform on the existing GB connections queue.
Tom holds a 1st class integrated Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London and has previously worked as a Technical Researcher at the Net Zero Technology Centre in Aberdeen. His focus was on identifying global opportunities for low carbon hydrogen production and transportation to maximise the deployment of renewable generation and relieve strain on electrical grids. He is proficient in multiple programming languages and has experience as part of the core software development team in a property technology start-up.

Toby Rowles
Senior Power Systems Consultant

Toby has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. His work at Blake Clough has exposed him to the grid connection application process in GB, specifically involved in Blake Clough’s curtailment analysis projects. He has worked on the design and operation of Blake Clough’s curtailment script, providing ANM and inter-tripping curtailment analysis reports for various clients. More recently, he has been involved with creating Power Systems models in DIgSILENT PowerFactory, carrying out analysis on reduced versions of a model for Great Britain under future energy scenarios.
Toby holds a 1st class (Hons) integrated Masters in Physics from Durham University, specialising in computational physics. As part of his final year project, he developed a driver-behaviour based model for road traffic, specifically investigating the effects of driver behaviour on vehicle CO2 emissions. This project produced recommendations on how drivers can best alter their driving style to reduce emissions. After graduating, Toby worked briefly at Oxford University, constructing an innovative physical model of the climate which demonstrates the urgent need for net zero. This model has been used at many outreach events, at some of which Toby has been able to present the model in a lecture format.
At Blake Clough Toby is keen to apply his analytical approach to power systems to deliver high quality solutions.
Outside of work, Toby plays the cornet in a brass band and enjoys staying active through playing squash and badminton.

Esme Butler Davies
Senior Power Systems Consultant
MEng (Hons)
Esme is a Senior Power Systems Consultant and Team Lead for Blake Clough Consulting’s Slaithwaite office, specialising in regulatory strategy, grid connections and policy-led energy market reform. She plays a leading role in Clean Power 2030 Connections Reform analysis, helping developers to understand regulatory risk, strengthen Gate 2 positioning and respond strategically to evolving connection frameworks. Esme has also worked extensively on LDES Cap and Floor eligibility submissions, guiding clients through complex application requirements and helping them clearly articulate project value within a competitive regulatory environment. Alongside this, she contributes to network innovation and licence-based projects, engaging with stakeholders across both transmission and distribution networks.
Esme holds a first-class MEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering with Energy from the University of Sheffield. She has undertaken a range of projects investigating large-scale battery storage, including feasibility studies and lab-based analysis into the sustainable production of materials for novel technologies.
Prior to joining BCC, Esme completed a year-long industrial placement in the manufacturing sector, where she delivered process improvement and capital projects within a high-pressure operating environment.
In her spare time, Esme enjoys climbing, hiking and travelling.

Siddharth Puri
Senior Power Systems Consultant
MEng (Hons)
Siddharth has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. At Blake Clough, Siddharth has worked on projects that support developers with their renewable energy connections. These include drafting G99 Applications, performing Due Diligence on Connection Offers, and carrying out site feasibility assessments. Siddharth has experience working with both Distribution as well as Transmission Connection Offers, and he has also worked on Statement of Works Offers and Technical Limits Variation Offers, helping clients determine the most commercially viable option for their project. Recently, Siddharth has provided developers with valuable advise regarding the Connections Reform process outlined by NESO, including the potential impact on their connection date and associated commercial risk.
Separately, Siddharth has applied his quantitative data analysis skills towards performing Curtailment analysis and helping developers estimate revenue losses due to flexible connection offers, technical limits schemes, and outages on the distribution and transmission circuits. Siddharth has helped develop Python tools that assist in obtaining reliable data for these assessments, and enjoys developing solutions that improve the rigour and speed of the analysis.
Siddharth holds a first-class MEng (Hons) in Materials with Nuclear Engineering from Imperial College London. Throughout his time at university, Siddharth has completed several projects relating to the energy sector. His Master’s thesis explored the use of different machine-learning models to simulate the performance of coolants for fusion reactors, aiding in faster computational evaluations. His work is soon to be published, in collaboration with the UK Atomic Energy Agency (UKAEA). Additionally, he was selected for a competitive summer research-exchange program with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he explored the effects of radiation damage on metals in nuclear reactors. The program was funded by the prestigious Turing Scheme, and provided him an opportunity to broaden his data-analysis skillset by applying computational data-processing methods towards complex radiation-physics applications.
He was also a part of the Energy Systems team of Imperial’s Energy Society, working on a project to model cogeneration synergies between wind and solar energy. His team’s work was well-received by one of Europe’s leading renewable energy developers. Separately, he participated in Engineers Without Border’s Reshaping Engineering Challenge 2023, for which his team won the People’s Prize Award amongst over 30 other teams from the UK.

Vilhjálmur Jonsson

Vilhjálmur has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. At Blake Clough, Vilhjálmur has been working on G99 compliance studies for BESS looking to connect to distribution networks, and demand capacity scouting for strategic placement of large loads for the GB transmission network.
Vilhjálmur holds a BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Iceland and a MSc with Distinction in Future Power Networks from Imperial College London. At Imperial he focused on the integration of technologies to decarbonise the electric power sector.
Vilhjálmur‘s MSc research project was aimed at investigating black start strategies for offshore wind power plants. This gave him valuable knowledge in modelling of offshore wind power plants, grid forming control, wind turbine technologies, and restoration strategies. Prior to his studies at Imperial College London he worked at EFLA Consulting Engineers, where he focused on transmission planning, power system analysis, and energy consulting.
Outside of work, Vilhjálmur enjoys playing football, golf, and padel.

Omama Zaheen

Omama has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. She is a part of Power Systems team and has worked on projects like short circuit analysis, control philosophy, P28 studies etc. She also has good experience of working with Grid Connection projects including Curtailment Analysis, Due Diligence and grid feasibility studies.
Previously, Omama has completed her Masters in Renewable Energy and Clean Technology from the University of Manchester under a fully funded “British Council Women in Stem Scholarship”. She has a background spanning four years in the Power and Renewable Energy sector. Before joining Blake Clough, Omama held a role as an Assistant Manager within the Detailed Design team at one of Pakistan’s largest EPC companies. During this tenure, she spearheaded multiple detailed design projects for Solar PV developments, honing her expertise in delivering efficient solutions within the renewable energy landscape.
In addition, Omama’s has two years’ experience as a Consulting Engineer, where she worked on electrical infrastructure design for industrial networks and conducting in-depth power system studies. She has experience in integration of renewable generation projects into existing networks, protection coordination studies, harmonic analyses, and transient stability studies.
Outside of work Omama enjoys listening to music and watching sports.

Toby Larnach
Power Systems Consultant

Toby is a Power Systems Consultant with Blake Clough Consulting. He recently graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a first-class BEng (Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, before returning to Blake Clough as a full-time consultant. He initially joined the company during his placement year and has now worked on electricity network and grid-connection projects for 2 years.
During this time, Toby has contributed to grid connection due diligence, site feasibility assessments, curtailment analysis and grid capacity screening. His experience covers generation, storage and demand connections, including solar PV, onshore wind, battery energy storage systems and data centres.
Toby has also supported the development of internal analysis tools using Python and Excel. This has included processing large electricity network datasets and assessing generation and demand headroom at DNO and GSP level. During his final year at university, he used DIgSILENT PowerFactory to investigate the potential impact and viability of Small Modular Reactors on the GB electricity network.
Outside of work, Toby enjoys scuba diving, bouldering, camping, hiking and other outdoor activities.

Alix Weir
Power Systems Consultant

Since joining Blake Clough Consulting, Alix has gained significant experience in key areas of Grid and Power Systems consulting. Her current responsibilities include performing curtailment analysis, preparing and submitting G99 applications, conducting grid feasibility studies, and preparing due diligence reports. She has been closely involved in following large-scale projects—such as Solar, BESS, and Wind—through the grid application process.
Alix’s role also involves collaborating with clients to ensure technical concepts are communicated clearly, supporting informed decision-making. She consistently leverages her analytical skills and technical knowledge to deliver high-quality, impactful results.
Holding a BSc (Hons) in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Glasgow, Alix has developed a strong academic foundation that she applies to her role in power systems consulting.
During her time at university, she actively participated in the Out In STEM society, contributing to outreach programs aimed at fostering inclusivity and encouraging underrepresented individuals to pursue careers in STEM fields. As part of her final year project, she conducted a research project into ‘Approaches to Computing in First-year Physics’ the findings of which were presented at the University of Glasgow Teaching and Learning conference 2023.

Calum Press
Power Systems Consultant

Calum is a Power Systems Consultant at Blake Clough Consulting, specialising in grid connection analysis for generation, energy storage and large-scale demand projects. His work includes due diligence, feasibility assessments, technical advisory and regulatory support across both transmission and distribution networks. He regularly supports clients with Clean Power 2030 Connections Reform, helping them understand project positioning, connection risks and the implications of regulatory change.
Calum has extensive project management experience, coordinating complex technical assignments from initial scoping through to final delivery. He is skilled at prioritising competing demands, meeting deadlines and maintaining clear communication throughout each stage of a project. His structured approach and attention to detail help ensure that work is delivered efficiently, accurately and to a high standard.
Calum holds a first-class BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering with Renewables from the University of Dundee.

Joshua Morgan

Joshua has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. Joshua’s focus at Blake Clough is on grid consulting and integration of renewable generation into the networks, whilst leveraging his broad range of skills to provide an excellent service to our clients.
He has gained extensive experience in assessing distribution and transmission connection offers swiftly identifying major risks and potential sources of saving. Josh has managed and supported on a range of larger scale feasibility assessments and due diligence reports. His clear and actionable summaries help clients cut through complexity, identify key risks, and determine the next steps to support the successful delivery of their portfolios.
Joshua ensures he remains abreast of industry shifts, with his recent focus being NESO’s upcoming queue reforms, Joshua prepared Blake Clough Consulting’s response to the CP2030 consultation in November, providing insights into its potential impact on clients and the sector. Additionally, Joshua has run workshops on TMO4+ and CP2030, both as internal training and externally to clients, designed to share learnings and prepare others for the potential impact of these reforms and the support Blake Clough Consulting can provide.
Joshua holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from Aberystwyth University, and an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough University. Prior to completing his MSc, Joshua trained as a teacher but ultimately decided to pursue a career in the energy sector and tackle the challenges of a net-zero grid. Joshua’s MSc program has given him experience in the analysis and modelling of wind and solar systems, the regulatory hurdles in power generation and the opportunities posed by the transition to net-zero.

Calum Brown
Power Systems Consultant

Calum has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. During his time at Blake Clough, Calum has spent his time working with both the grid side team and the power systems team. When working with the grid team Calum has undertaken independent curtailment analysis, grid feasibility studies and helping clients understand grid connection offers. With the power systems team Calum has been using DIgSilent PowerFactory to complete studies such as reactive power capability and harmonic studies to ensure the compliance of prospective grid connections.
Calum graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a MEng in Electrical Energy Systems with Distinction. During Calum’s studies he took classes such as Advanced Power System Analysis and Protection; and Power System Economics, Markets, and Asset Management.
Calum’s Masters project was aimed at creating a low cost a waste water tank level and gas concentration monitoring system. As part of the 5 person project, Calum was tasked with designing and building a custom battery management system. This entailed creating over and under voltage battery protection, battery charging and supplying all of the applications with adequate voltage levels through different voltage transformer. This project forced Calum to learn on his feet as he had not previously designed any hardware.
Between academic years, Calum was a Summer Placement Student at AECOM and Network Rail. At these placements Calum learned a lot about how to think like an engineer and how to have a mindset such that he is always learning and broadening his engineering mind.

Holly Wild
Power Systems Consultant

Holly has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. At Blake Clough, she has worked on a range of grid connection projects, completing due diligence reports and grid feasibility studies for clients. These cover a variety of technologies including solar PV and BESS, connecting into both the distribution and transmission networks across Great Britain. She has also worked on curtailment assessments for new grid connections, delivering technical knowledge and detailed analyses.
Holly graduated with a First Class integrated Master’s degree, MPhys (Hons) Physics, from the University of Manchester in June 2024. Her final year thesis focussed on fabricating, testing and analysing organic photovoltaic cells. This provided extensive experience in solar PV systems analysis and a wider understanding of the role of renewables in the net zero transition as a whole.
Holly successfully constructed models to predict the optimal parameters for solar cell performance, which she used to inform the assembly process. This project gave her experience in analysing solar PV data, and a thorough understanding of the importance of renewables in the transition to net zero.
Having demonstrated excellent data analysis, problem solving and technical knowledge throughout her degree, she is well prepared to apply her skills to the field of electrical power systems.

Zachary Wong
Power Systems Consultant

Zachary has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. At Blake Clough, Zachary has been involved in completing G99 applications, conducting grid feasibility studies to assess connection viability, and performing due diligence assessments to evaluate the technical, financial, and regulatory aspects of power generation projects.
Zachary graduated with a first-class degree in BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham Malaysia. He later completed a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Systems at the University of Edinburgh, driven by his passion for renewable energy. His dissertation focused on analysing vortex-induced vibrations in subsea power cables under waves and currents, using MATLAB.
During his second year of undergraduate studies, Zachary interned at Siemens Malaysia as a Project Engineer, where he supported project management activities, engineering documentation, and testing and commissioning works while assisting with configuration and change management.
Outside of work, Zachary enjoys golf and continues to compete in badminton at national levels in Scotland.

Nino Renelleau

Nino has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. He holds a first class MEng (Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University College London. This has given him a strong foundation in power system analysis, electrical design, and energy networks. In addition, Nino has experience in Python, MATLAB, and C++ through dissertation projects undertaken at university and a summer internship research role at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital.
He has previous experience as a graduate electrical engineer, working on electrical infrastructure design for offshore platforms and conducting power system studies, covering load flow, short circuit, and arc flash studies. As part of this role, he also investigated renewable approaches for powering normally unmanned installations, giving him valuable knowledge in offshore wind and solar installations.
At Blake Clough, Nino will apply his experience and technical knowledge to deliver high quality and innovative solutions.
Outside of work, Nino enjoys playing guitar in a band and rock climbing.

As’ad Zakaria

As’ad joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant, bringing a strong multidisciplinary background across mechanical engineering, renewable energy, and power systems analysis.
He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Mannheim, Germany, an MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Edinburgh. His doctoral research focused on the probabilistic evaluation and dynamic allocation of hosting capacity for renewable generation and load connections in distribution networks, with emphasis on thermal constraints and new load integration under real-world conditions.
Following his PhD, As’ad worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher on National Grid–funded project THERMAL, advancing thermal modelling for transmission and distribution assets and supporting network resilience and dynamic rating studies.
As’ad has published several peer-reviewed research papers on hosting capacity analysis, distribution network integration of electric vehicle charging, and static and dynamic thermal ratings. He has also presented his work at international conferences, contributing to global discussions on power system planning and integration of distributed energy resources.
At Blake Clough, As’ad applies his academic and research experience to deliver technically robust power systems consultancy for modern electricity networks.

Anas Nurrochman

Anas is a Power Systems Consultant at Blake Clough Consulting, specialising in grid connection consultancy and power system studies for solar PV, battery energy storage, onshore wind and offshore wind developments across Great Britain and Europe. He uses DIgSILENT PowerFactory for core power system studies and complex curtailment analysis, and PSCAD for electromagnetic transient studies. His experience includes load flow and reactive power capability studies, RMS and EMT dynamic studies, curtailment assessments, technical due diligence, grid feasibility studies, capacity scouting and network development analysis.
At Blake Clough, Anas has contributed to a broad portfolio of distribution and transmission-connected renewable energy projects. His work includes power system studies for major offshore wind, solar PV and BESS developments, as well as curtailment assessments for projects connected at both distribution and transmission voltages. His wider experience includes connection-offer reviews, early-stage grid feasibility studies, technical due diligence and the development of design and operational standards for independent distribution networks.
Before joining Blake Clough, Anas worked at a UK-based renewable energy engineering company, where he designed scalable rectifier and converter systems for modular generator technologies and carried out simulations to verify their performance under a range of operating conditions. His earlier experience includes designing electrical infrastructure for advanced research facilities and leading the development and production preparation of automotive electrical systems, including an electric vehicle prototype.

Robert Messenger

Robert is a Power Systems Consultant at Blake Clough, supporting developers and stakeholders for new and existing projects. He is particularly interested in grid innovation and the increasing range of technical and commercial mechanisms available to support new developments.
Robert graduated from Lancaster University with a first Class MPhys (Hons) Physics degree, and in his final year he received a Research Academy Prize recognising an outstanding MPhys Research project, along with a Department Prize for an outstanding final year performance.
During his Masters degree, he undertook a range of projects, particularly focused on computer modelling and quantitative data analysis. In his final year research project, he performed detailed simulations of an innovative type of particle accelerator by performing EM field analyses and making finite difference approximations of particle behaviour. He also completed an internship project, where he wrote a detailed consumer analysis of heat pumps for a local community interest company.
Robert also enjoys playing volleyball with a local team, playing violin and bassoon both solo and with an orchestra, and studying languages.

Lawrence Farr

Lawrence is a power systems consultant with a passion for driving the transition to net-zero. He enjoys applying his keen mind to the evolving regulatory landscape that underpins the decarbonisation of the UK energy system.
He holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Warwick. His final year project involved analysing magnetic relaxation phenomena with findings relevant to skyrmionics. Alongside his studies, he completed an internship at an Environmental consultancy, where he contributed to carbon accounting work with the aim of net-zero and supported analysis of material flow across a full lifecycle. Both of these activities have developed his communication of technical findings, key for evidence-based regulatory insight.
Outside of work, Lawrence enjoys playing competitive hockey, social golf and volunteering for his church.

Léa Gagliardi
Power Systems Consultant

Léa is a Power Systems Consultant at Blake Clough Consulting, supporting clients across both power systems and grid connection projects. She is proficient in DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, and Python, and has delivered studies including reactive power compensation, short-circuit analysis and equipment energisation. On the grid consultancy side, she has gained experience in grid feasibility assessments, curtailment analysis and HVDC transmission system planning.
Léa holds a Diplôme d’Ingénieur (MEng) in Energy and Smart Grids from École Centrale de Lille, France. During her studies, she completed a six-month internship with the Power Systems team at EDF in Paris, where she built a strong foundation in power system analysis, electrical design, and energy networks.
Complementing her engineering background, Léa earned a Master’s in Management (MSc Hons) from Imperial College Business School, where she was named in the 2023 Dean’s List. Her capstone thesis examined the feasibility of achieving net zero by 2050 without relying on breakthrough innovations.
Before joining Blake Clough, Léa worked as a Graduate Electrical Engineer at Ørsted, gaining hands-on experience through rotations in Power Systems Design, Offshore Cable Installation, and High Voltage Equipment Engineering. She also supported offshore wind farm operations, broadening her understanding of asset management and project delivery within the renewable energy sector.

Gregor Mathieson
Power Systems Consultant

Gregor is a Power Systems Consultant with Blake Clough Consulting. He holds an MSc in Advanced Power Engineering and a BEng in Electronics and Electrical Engineering both from the University of Edinburgh. As part of his MSc, Gregor worked with Siemens Energy to complete his Masters’ thesis, which focused on the use of machine learning techniques to optimise programmed pulse-width modulation in offshore wind turbine converters, reducing pre-transformer harmonic distortion by 28%.
Gregor also has experience working with consultancy companies specialising in offshore wind, where he was tasked with the power systems analysis for large offshore projects such as the Llyr wind farm in the Celtic Sea, and the OMFE electrification project of offshore oil platforms in the North Sea. Gregor has also used his proficiency of Python to help construct several software tools for engineering purposes, such as a subsea cable pricing and analysis tool.
Outside of work, Gregor enjoys studying foreign language, and has recently passed the Japanese and Chinese language proficiency tests (HSK4 and JLPT N3 respectively). Gregor looks to add the TOPIK, DELF, DELE, and the Staatsexamen Nt2 to his collection of language proficiency certificates.

Chanel Tohme

Chanel is passionate about accelerating the transition towards net-zero through innovative and data-driven solutions. With a background that bridges engineering, consultancy and research, she brings a strong technical foundation and a global perspective to her work in the energy sector.
She holds an MSc with Distinction in Energy Systems from the University of Oxford, where her research explored the techno-economic pathways to achieving a cost-optimal UK Net Zero Building Standard. Her academic and professional journey has been shaped by a deep interest in the intersection of technology and sustainability from decarbonising energy systems to enabling large-scale renewable integration.
Chanel’s experience spans power system studies and feasibility evaluations for renewables and battery storage. She has also worked on climate performance analysis, national energy transition planning, and renewable asset optimisation across several countries.
At Blake Clough, Chanel is contributing to projects that strengthen grid resilience and unlock the potential of clean energy technologies.

Yordan Ignatov
Power Systems Consultant

Yordan is a Power Systems Consultant at Blake Clough Consulting, bringing a strong analytical and computational background from his PhD in Astrophysics at Imperial College London. His expertise spans simulation, statistical inference, and scientific computing, with particular strengths in Python-based modelling, data analysis, and Bayesian methods.
During his doctoral research, Yordan developed open‑source simulation and inference pipelines for analysing complex radio‑frequency data, and led multiple first‑author publications in leading astrophysics journals. His work involved building robust numerical models, extracting weak signals from noisy environments, and designing end‑to‑end analysis workflows.
Outside of work, Yordan enjoys surfing, hiking and climbing.

Ben Pepper
Power Systems Consultant

Ben is a Power Systems Consultant with Blake Clough Consulting. He holds a first-class MSci degree in Physics from Imperial College London and is currently completing a PhD from the University of Strathclyde with the Wind and Marine Energy Systems and Structures Centre for Doctoral Training. The topic of his PhD has been on grid-forming control and developing impedance estimation techniques to help maintain the power-angle stability of remote and weakly connected generation plants, such as offshore wind farms.
During the foundation year of his PhD, Ben studied a comprehensive range of courses on offshore renewable energy, which has given him an appreciation for the many facets of developing a power generation unit, from resource characterisation to techno-economic analysis. He has previously worked as a Research Analyst at the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, where his main role was to carry out an analysis of wave data from a prospective wave energy site, and as a Teaching Assistant for Control Engineering and Wind Turbine Control modules at the University of Strathclyde.
Outside of work, Ben enjoys training in Kung Fu and Tai Chi.

Theva Maniam

Darüber hinaus verfügt er über umfangreiche Erfahrung bei der Durchführung von Netzanschlussstudien für einen der britischen Verteilernetzbetreiber (DNOs), bei der Bewertung neuer Anschlussanträge für Verbraucher und Erzeuger sowie bei der Empfehlung geeigneter Lösungen zur Netzverstärkung, sofern erforderlich. Er hat eine Vielzahl von Anschlussstudien unter Verwendung der Netz- und Kostenmodellierungstools des Verteilernetzbetreibers erfolgreich durchgeführt.

Emma Shaw

Emma is a Power Systems Intern at Blake Clough. She is a physics undergraduate at the University of Manchester, where she is averaging a first-class degree, and is here gaining practical experience in industry.
She has a strong programming background and has experience as a software development intern, having worked on IPSA at TNEI, and is familiar with Python and C++.
At university, she is part of the climbing and mountaineering society, as well as volunteering in the Mental Health and Wellbeing department. She is also an avid motorsport fan and loves Formula 1 and IndyCar.

Tana Wrigley
Operations Manager

Before starting her career, Tana studied at Sheffield Hallam University, obtaining an LLB (Hons) Law Degree. She is currently studying the Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, for which she is predicted to achieve a high pass result. Tana is the Head of the company Health and safety Committee, first aid trained, and a mental health first aider.
Tana has significant experience working in various types of businesses and brings a range of knowledge from each, including expertise in financial systems and business operations. During her time at Blake Clough, she continues to be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the business. She has implemented policies and procedures and ensures they are followed. Organisational platforms have been implemented to support the company’s rapid growth, which Tana has learned how to use and then trained the team on. The most notable is the company’s custom-built project management system, which Tana has managed the design and development of.
Tana has also assisted the company in achieving its ISO accreditations, such as ISO9001, and is responsible for maintaining these high standards through regular internal audits. She also assists in financial and accounting processes.
Tana has played a key role in the team’s growth and has dedicated time and attention to all stages of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention.
Most recently she recruited Blake Cloughs Business Support Apprentice, who she line manages and has trained to be a valued member of the team.
Tana is passionate about continuing to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and ensuring that Blake Clough is a great place to work.
In addition to Operations and HR responsibilities, Tana manages the companies Events & Marketing, ensuring everything runs smoothly. She designs the company stands, orders all the materials, and manages the team when the company exhibits at conferences such as Solar & Storage. She regularly attends events and awards to represent the company and also organises bi-annual team events, one of which is abroad. Working closely with a video production company and some experts in eCommerce, Tana has recently been developing content to push the company’s marketing strategy. Tana has also formed links with local authorities and made successful applications for grant funding to help the company continue to grow and provide jobs in the West Yorkshire Area. She is also in touch with local charities, one close to her heart being ‘The Kirkwood’ for which she organised a charity skydive with other members of the team, raising over £2000.

Josh Brooke

Josh is the Business Support Executive with Blake Clough Consulting. He started his career as an apprentice Business Analyst within the health tech industry before transitioning into project management, where he specialised in process improvement and data-based projects. Following a transition to the legal sector, Josh managed the delivery of large-scale, innovation-led projects relating to strategy & execution, finance, AI implementation, and marketing. During his time as a project manager, Josh qualified as a PMO coordinator through APMG International.
Josh works within the operation and admin team, providing business support to the team at Blake Clough. His background as a business analyst and project manager allows him to look at the continuous improvement of the systems and processes that are used daily at the company. Additionally, Josh is first aid trained and has a strong track record in delivering internal events within his previous role, such as guest health speakers, charity events, corporate games, and in-house team events.
Outside of work, Josh is a keen sportsman, having played football and rugby for local clubs, as well as recently taking up golf. Josh also enjoys travelling, having spent time abroad, surfing, skiing, and attending F1 weekends.

Georgia Wheeldon

Mit mehr als fünf Jahren Erfahrung als Kreditkontrolleur auf Konzernebene verfügt Hubert über fundierte Fachkenntnisse im Kreditmanagement und im Inkasso und unterstützt das Unternehmen dabei, einen gesunden Cashflow sowie solide Kreditprozesse aufrechtzuerhalten.
Hubert verfügt über eine ACICM-Qualifikation des Chartered Institute of Credit Management mit den Schwerpunkten Kreditmanagement und fortgeschrittene Forderungsbeitreibung. Sohail leitet die Abteilung für Energiesysteme bei Blake Clough Consulting und führt ein großes Team von Ingenieuren für Energiesysteme. Dazu gehören die Durchführung und das Management eines breiten Spektrums komplexer Studien zum Stromversorgungssystem, einschließlich der vollständigen Studien zur Einhaltung der Netzanschlussbedingungen, die für große Projekte zur Übertragung und Verteilung erneuerbarer Energien erforderlich sind.
Durch die Durchführung zahlreicher komplexer Studien zum Stromnetz hat Sohail ein fundiertes Verständnis des GB Grid Code und der G99 Engineering Recommendations entwickelt und ist in der Lage, Studien mit einer Vielzahl von Softwarepaketen wie DIgSILENT, ETAP, PSSE und IPSA, NEPLAN durchzuführen.
Sohail hat einen BEng in Maschinenbau, einen MSc in Petroleum Engineering und einen PhD in Control and Power. Er untersucht Konverter-Topologien und das anschließende Design ihrer Kontrollsysteme für die Integration von Energiespeichersystemen in das Netz.

Ricardo Echeverri Martinez

Ricardo ist Senior Power Systems Consultant bei Blake Clough, wo er an einem breiten Spektrum von Studien zum Stromversorgungssystem in Großbritannien gearbeitet hat, darunter Lastfluss, elektrische Auslegung, Kurzschlussstudien, Schutzkoordination, Arc Flash, Oberschwingungsanalyse, EMT und transiente Studien. Er ist spezialisiert auf die Einhaltung von Grid Code, ENA G99 und internationalen Standards. Ricardo hat umfangreiche Erfahrung mit Stromnetzsimulationen unter Verwendung von DIgSILENT Power Factory, PSCAD und Elek.
Ricardo war früher Projektingenieur und hat einen Doktortitel und einen MSc in Elektrotechnik. Er ist ein selbstmotivierter Fachmann mit mehr als 10 Jahren Erfahrung in den Bereichen Stromübertragung, Verteilungssysteme und Forschung und Entwicklung. Während seines Doktoratsstudiums schlug Ricardo eine Methodik zur Unterstützung der Entscheidungsfindung bei der Planung, dem Entwurf und dem Betrieb von Smart Grid-Projekten vor. Er hat auch als Power System Engineer bei DNV Australia-Power Grids gearbeitet. Er führt Schutzkoordinationsstudien, Kurzschlussstudien, Störlichtbogen-Gefahrenanalysen und Lastflussstudien durch.

Andres Calvache

Andrés Felipe ist leitender Ingenieur für Stromversorgungssysteme bei Blake Clough Consulting. Im Rahmen seiner Tätigkeit bei Blake Clough Consulting war Andrés an Netzanschlussstudien für BESS- und PV-Solarprojekte mit einer Leistung von 15 MW bis 100 MW beteiligt; außerdem war er an Optioneering-Analysen für den Anschluss von Energiespeicheranlagen an das Verteilungs- und Stromübertragungsnetz in Großbritannien beteiligt.
Bevor er zu Blake Clough kam, war er Ingenieur im technischen Büro der Compañia Energetica de Occidente (einem kolumbianischen Energieversorger). Sein umfangreiches Fachwissen umfasst Hochspannungs- und Hochleistungstests, Design und Analyse von Energiesystemen, Audits für die elektrische Konstruktion von DNOs, Audits für den Bau von Umspannwerken, technische Standardisierung, Asset Management, zuverlässigkeitsorientierte Wartung und vorausschauende Wartungstechniken für elektrische Anlagen.

Paras ist bei Blake Clough als Power Systems Engineer tätig. Bei Blake Clough hat Paras an einer Reihe von Projekten gearbeitet, darunter BESS, PV und Onshore-Windkraft, und hat verschiedene Compliance-Studien für diese Systeme durchgeführt. Er hat Lastfluss-, Fehlerpegel-, G5/5-Oberschwingungs-, Frequenzgang-, Spannungsgang-, FRT- und FFFCI-Studien durchgeführt. Er hat viele Studien zu Stromversorgungssystemen durchgeführt, darunter Lastfluss- und Blindleistungsstudien, Fehlerpegelstudien, G5/5 Oberschwingungsanalysen, P28-Stromversorgungsstudien und Flickerstudien. Darüber hinaus hat er auch Erfahrung in der Erstellung von Übertragungsanwendungen und hat an Projekten wie Crawcrof Lane, Rooksbridge, Marston Vale und Patford Bridge mitgewirkt. Er ist erfahren in der elektrischen Planung und in Studien für MS- und NS-Verteilungsnetze, Umspannwerke und Projekte für erneuerbare Energien.

Faiq Hayat

Faiq ist als Ingenieur für Energiesysteme bei Blake Clough eingetreten. Bei Blake Clough hat Faiq an verschiedenen Projekten mitgearbeitet, darunter LAC, Statera-Exeter BESS, Woburn und Sundon BESS. Im Rahmen seiner jüngsten Projekte bei Blake Clough war er an der Durchführung von Lastflussanalysen, Kurzschlussstudien, Oberschwingungsanalysen sowie Untersuchungen zur dynamischen Stabilität und zur Transienten-Wiederherstellungsspannung (TRV) gemäß den Normen G5/4, G5/5, G99 und den Netzkodex-Standards beteiligt.
Herr Faiq war zuvor als Konstrukteur für Energiesysteme bei Siemens tätig und hat sich auf die Modellierung und Analyse von Stromnetzen mit den Spannungen 500/220/132/33/11/0,4 kV spezialisiert. Er verfügt über Fachkenntnisse in den Bereichen Kurzschlussauslegungsstudien, Anlagenbewertungen und Schutzgerätekoordination für verschiedene Projekte. Faiq verfügt über Erfahrung in der Kundenbetreuung, der Erstellung technischer Berichte sowie der Mitwirkung an Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeiten im industriellen und gewerblichen Bereich.
Darüber hinaus verfügt er über Erfahrung in den Bereichen Steuerung, Schutz und Automatisierung, einschließlich der Prüfung und Inbetriebnahme einer 500/220-kV-KKI-Netzstation sowie eines 150-MW-Solarkraftwerks von Scatec in Pakistan. Zu seinen Aufgaben gehörten die Leitung von Werks- und Standortabnahmeprüfungen, die Relaisprogrammierung sowie die Konzeption und Inbetriebnahme von SCADA-Systemen (PRP-Netzwerk) gemäß den IEC-61850-Protokollen.

He brings over seven years’ experience from concept design through SCADA/PPC configuration, equipment integration, FAT/SAT, commissioning and project delivery, with involvement across more than 5 GW of solar PV and BESS projects globally.
Before joining Blake Clough, Ibad worked in senior engineering, technical lead and project management roles on international SCADA and automation projects across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas. His hands-on experience covers SCADA architecture, grid-compliant control, curtailment & dispatch, solar PV/BESS/grid/generator synchronisation, metering and reporting, breaker control, protection relay integration, BESS PCS, PLCs, data loggers and MV/HV switchgear control systems, using protocols including IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA and Modbus TCP/RTU.

Her project experience includes the design and engineering of 132/33/11 kV AIS substations with elevated and non-elevated switch rooms, covering greenfield and brownfield developments, membrane-covered areas, and sites with varying soil conditions.
Wania has experience in earthing system design, including the development and assessment of soil models using site resistivity data, selection of appropriate soil-layer representations, earthing grid design, and evaluation of system performance under different site conditions. She performs earthing studies using CDEGS and prepares earthing layouts, grid designs, and associated details in AutoCAD. Her work is carried out in accordance with relevant IEC standards and UK project requirements.
She also has experience in lightning protection engineering, including lightning risk assessments using DEHNrisk and ABB Furse, and lightning protection design using DEHNplan. Her work includes preparing 3D substation models, assessing protection zones, and determining suitable locations and heights for lightning protection masts. She contributes to the preparation of design calculations, technical reports, drawings, and supporting engineering documentation. Wania has demonstrated the ability to research unfamiliar technical tasks, develop an understanding of the applicable standards and design methodologies, and progress them through to completed engineering deliverables.
